Eyesores?

• SO Douglas Walters and his friends aren’t “pompous politicians” (Other avenues for the protesters, July 9).
But on the issue of the “democracy village” in Parliament Square “eyesores”, like beauty, are in the eyes of the beholder.
David Mulholland’s Forum piece in the same issue shows that laws to be repealed should include the licensing regulations that killed the grass-roots music scene.
The flyer ban should go as well. Anyone who wants to hand out leaflets should be able to.
