HS2 fast food

• I was saddened to hear about the threat to business and community around Drummond Street, WC1, from HS2.

For many years, this culinary oasis has been an icon for vegetarian eating in London.

I am sure transport secretary Justine Greening has our dietary requirements at heart: no doubt we will be able to satisfy ourselves at the numerous chain outlets clamouring to pay handsome rents at the new Euston “complex”. 

And if you do not find the idea of a “McCurry burger” appealing, you can sample “the real thing” in Birmingham in 49 minutes (if you can afford the ticket).
