STICKERS criticising controversial plans for a new business improvement district have been plastered on street furniture in Fitzrovia.
Voluntary “business-led” organisation the Fitzrovia Partnership has proposed establishing a business improvement district (BID) in the area, but the plans were criticised last week in an open letter from residents that was published in the West End Extra.
Now notices demanding “Keep Fitzrovia special, No BID here” have been stuck up in Charlotte Street.
The result of a ballot of 239 large businesses will be announced on July 23, and if the majority of businesses polled vote yes, the BID could be up and running by August 3.
