Certificate: 12a
Rating: 3 Out Of 5 Stars
This film had been delayed time and again – and even resulted in lawsuits – as the director could not settle on a final cut he liked.
Anna Paquin stars as Lisa Cohen, a woman who is racked with guilt over the death of a stranger, which she feels in some way responsible for.
There is a sense of the director trying to use the idea of the butterfly effect: small actions can have big consequences.
When Lisa sees a cowboy hat perched on the head of a bus driver she likes, she tries to get his attention.
He jumps a red light and kills a pedestrian, who dies in her arms.
This film is too long by a good half hour, and staggers at times.
However, it is well acted and has an interesting premise to keep you going.
But it feels like it was delayed for a good reason.
