Rock and Pop: Record Of The Week - Desire by Anna Calvi

HEAR Anna Calvi’s fierce tones and it’s not hard to understand why she sets live audiences alight.

With an intro reminiscent of Springsteen’s Born in the USA, Calvi’s fearsome vocals build Desire’s chorus to a roar that should leave lesser creatures trembling. It’s easy to dismiss her as the female musician of the moment, but Calvi has the potential to be more than that, expect her here for some time.
