Rock and Pop: Coming Up - The Fall at Koko

THE Fall have a magic talent for keeping on going without losing credibility. Somehow, Mark E Smith et al have ploughed on without becoming “ageing rockers” and are still hailed as one of the most iconic post-punk outfits of the late 1970s. So much so that ultra cool promoters The Play­ground – usually known for their edgy electronic nights featuring equally edgy French DJs – have lined up The Fall to headline Koko on June 1.The plan – to bring the origins of post-punk together with their up-to-the-minute successors Scumbag Philosopher.
