AS Christmas cheer spread through Westminster, West End Extra visited revellers young and old to capture some of the magic of the festive season.

At Soho Parish Primary in Great Windmill Street, pupils told the classic nativity story with dancing angels, singing farm animals and fantastic performances from Years 1 and 2.

At the Essendine Primary School in Maida Vale children told the story of Christ’s birth through a cooking lesson, with ingredients for the “Christmas story” including angels, shepherds and of course a baby.

St George’s RC secondary school in Maida Vale threw a free party for older people with students serving high tea to guests with sandwiches, mince pies, sausage rolls and cream cakes. There was a performance from the school choir, a short play and a game of bingo.

At Greenside Community Centre in Lilestone Street, Lisson Grove, dozens of  residents tucked into a tasty Christmas feast bought by housing provider CityWest Homes.
